INR 194: Introduction to Global Affairs

INR 194 is a new online course created in partnership with the Council on Foreign Relations. Offered through Accelerate ASU, this course invites high school students to explore the global systems and decisions that shape our lives — from diplomacy and security to development and human rights.
Whether you're looking to expand your global studies offerings or strengthen civics-based learning, this course provides timely, expert-driven content in a flexible online format. What students will learn
Throughout the course, students will explore key global topics, including diplomacy and governance, economic development, human rights, and international security. By engaging with real-world issues and expert perspectives, they will build global awareness, strengthen their critical thinking skills, and advance their success in college-level international studies.
This course can serve as a foundation for students interested in pursuing degrees in political science, global studies, international relations, or public service. It may also satisfy elective or social science credit requirements at the postsecondary level.
